About Us

In 1997, what was to later become Escenic, a CMS project was initiated within the Scandinavian consulting group Neo Interactive. The company Escenic ("i|o Publishing Technology" until 2001) was established in 1999. Escenic immediately developed a close relationship with the Scandinavian publishing industry.

Scandinavian publisher Schibsted embraced Escenic's technology and helped drive the company forward. By 2001, a solid footprint in the Scandinavian publishing industry was established. Escenic's international campaign began early in 2003 when a number of European clients, including De Telegraaf of The Netherlands and BCP in Portugal, signed to Escenic technology.

2003 was an exciting year: The first version of Escenic Content Studio was launched in close collaboration with Scandinavian clients, while the company experienced successful generation of new business abroad.

2004 and 2005 saw further international growth.

2006 being a record year for Escenic signing high profile clients like Axel Springer in Germany and News International in the UK.

2007 was a year of growth through international partnerships and organizational consolidation of branch offices throughout northern Europe and the USA. Escenic also released several new products: Escenic Tip Engine, Escenic Event Engine, Escenic Mobile Solution and Escenic Community Engine.

2008 was an interesting year for Escenic. From a research and development point of view, a lot of energies were put into completing Content Studio 5. Long awaited it was well received when released in Q3 of 2008. This was also the year when Escenic became a Vizrt company. An industrial alliance that will bring exciting results in years to come. Together, Escenic and Vizrt represent leading technologies for broadcasters and media companies with a print heritage alike.

2009 finds Escenic with 80 employees in 7 countries and the company's technology powers more than 600 Media sites in 21 countries. We are working ever more closely with our Vizrt colleagues to integrate technologies, organisations and business cultures.
