MySQL signs partner agreement with Escenic

March 21, 2007: MySQL, the world's most used database based on open standards, has signed a partner agreement with Escenic.

MySQL, the world's most used database based on open standards, has signed a partner agreement with Norwegian Escenic, developer of web content management solutions and publishing tools for newspapers and web sites. The contract involves Escenic supporting and delivering MySQL technology and its solutions.

A large number of media, portals and organisations in Europe uses Escenic's tools for web publishing. Aftenposten.no, Aftonbladet.se, Svenskt Næingsliv, A-pressen, News International and Axel Springer are among references on their customer list.

- Several of our customers have requested MySQL's database. The partner cooperation creates a good technical fundament and makes our solutions more competitive in additional segments internationally, says Tom Handegård, CTO, Escenic.

According to the agreement, Escenic's core produce, Escenic Content Engine, will provide full support for MySQL. Escenic will offer its solutions together with MySQL, ensuring customers a quick and stable platform and support for MySQL.

Through the partnership with Escenic, we are gaining a professional partner with a strong connection to the media sector where our database is already used by many players. The media sector is leading the development towards web 2.0 placing huge demands on data management, says Magnus Stenberg, Sales Director for MySQL in Scandinavia.
