Escenic Communities
Escenic Community Engine is a powerful solution for creating online communities. This article presents some examples of what can be created.
Escenic Community Engine is based on Escenic Content Engine and contains features and functionality for creating living social websites. There modules provide functionality for user generated content (UGC) such as blogs, stories and discussions, supports creation of groups and networks, internal messaging within the community, favourites, statistics, etc. As each module in Escenic Community Engine contains a JSP tag library, communities may be designed and implemented quite differently. Below are some examples.
TV2
Norway's largest commercial broadcaster TV2 run multiple websites on Escenic Community Engine, as well as on Escenic Content Engine.

Folkekokkene
REMA, one of Norway's larges grocery chains, is running Folkekokkene ("The People Chefs"), an online community for foodies. Users may contribute recepies, which others can comment, discuss and rate.
E24
Norway's largest finance website E24.no uses Community Engine for their forum. E24's also has websites in Sweden (E24.se), The Netherlands (Z24.nl) and France (E24.fr).
Dierz
The Dutch Dierz ("Animals") website is a community for pet owners and pet lovers. In addition to user generated content, Dierz offer expert advice on nutrition, training, etc.
Hallo Emmen
The Dutch town Emmen uses Escenic Community Engine for their Hallo Emmen website, where users may contribute and discuss all kinds of topics related to Emmen. Neighbouring town Assen's website Hallo Assen uses the same framework.
Leeuwarder Courant
Leeuwarder Courant is the oldest newspaper in The Netherlands, and uses Escenic Community Engine for their highly customizable website. Users may create their own menus and subpages, rearrange the iGoogle-like boxes on the site, and may also configure boxes to present external content from other websites, making the Leeuwarder Courant website their number one stop for news from many sources.

Dagblad van het Noorden uses the same framework as Leewarder Courant.
