The Forum is a framework for managing postings from external users to a web site, providing functionality for discussion forums, article comments and net meetings.
Discussion forums
The Forum contains an administration interface facilitating moderation, approval, rejection and other tasks regarding the administration and maintenance of a discussion forum. It also contains a specialised tag library for developing JSP templates and customising Forum to specific needs.
Article comments
Users can write comments to articles and these can be published directly or they can be moderated. The presentation of the user comments is controlled with templates and the sorting, threading, etc. can be customised for the website.
Net meetings
This Forum also provides functionality for answering questions from the website's visitors. Questions received can be edited (if needed), answered, and published on the website.
This is suitable for "ask the expert(s)", "celebrity chats" and so on.
The forum module can also be combined with the Agreement module to require registration and/or payment.
