Escenic Simple Publishing
Simple Publishing is an efficient, user-friendly method for in-context content management, using the web browser to manage content directly on the website.
The Simple Publishing module provides an intuitive, easy-to-use way of working with content stored in Escenic Content Engine. The aim is to allow occasional content contributors to publish and update content with a minimum of training, requiring no other tools than the web browser.
Based on the user's permissions, Escenic Content Engine will add functionality on the live website such as:
- Creating new content
- Updating existing content
- Saving content as "drafts" for later completion
- Marking content for deletion
- Permanent deletion
The editor is configurable, and its capabilities can be determined by the website administrators. To avoid confusion and make sure that the users of Simple Publishing work as efficiently as possible, Simple Publishing may present only a sub-set of the attributes of the content types available.
Adding the Simple Publishing module's functionality to existing templates is straight-forward and requires a bare minimum of coding. The Simple Publishing automatically determines the users' permissions from the user repository. The users, groups, roles and permissions are managed in Escenic Web Studio as usual.
All content is stored in Escenic Content Engine in the same way as content managed with Escenic Content Studio and Escenic Web Studio, with all the powerful content management features available there.
