Integration with Escenic Content Engine 5
Version 3 of Escenic Community Engine brings the integration with Escenic Content Engine to a whole new level. All content, whether editorial or user generated (UGC), may be seamlessly integrated and combined - including text (stories, blogs, comments, discussions, etc), images, video, sound and custom content types. All types of content may be managed directly in the community or in Escenic Content Studio.
Third Party API
The API is implemented as RESTful web services, similar to the web services provided by Escenic Content Engine. REST is not Java-specific, and this allows for development of new features, additional modules, custom solutions, etc using your preferred language including:
- C#
- C
- PHP
- Perl
- Python
- Ruby
Widgetized Template Development
Makes it easy to implement and reuse components. Furthermore, it makes it breeze to configure appearance and features depending on the context.
Single Sign On Support
There is a growing demand for inter-connecting accounts across different communities. The most common solutions are Facebook Connect, and OpenID and these are thus the ones we have implemented. Other SSO solutions may be considered according to input from the Escenic Product Advisory Board and regular customer demand.
Community Engine now has rich Single Sign On support, enabling users to instantly take part in your community without going through yet a new registration process.
Currently, the Single Sign On support includes users from:
- Yahoo - OpenID
- Google - OpenID
Administration Dashboard
The Escenic Community Engine now ships with a new, user friendly Dashboard for managing your community. The Dashboard allows the editorial staff to efficiently moderate large amounts of user generated content (images, articles, comments). Furthermore, the Dashboard lets you ban/unban users, edit user generated content and it provides administration of tags and stop words.
