Escenic Community Engine 3.4-2 released
Great new release of the Escenic Community Engine featuring pretty URLs out of the box, improved template framework for handling content moderation as well as enhanced Dashboard security and UI.
Here we give you some of the highlights of the release. In addition to a number of bug fixes and other enhancements, the release contains:
Pretty URLs now work out of the box
Without any configuration of any kind, users writing blog posts will now get URIs like http://mysite.com/profile/myuser/2010/05/11/this-is-the-title-of-my-blog-post/
The URI format is of course configurable. See Search Engine Optimization (SEO) with Escenic Content Engine for more information.
Showing that a content item has been moderated in Dashboard
It is now possible for the web site to communicate that a given content item has been moderated/edited by editorial staff.
This makes it possible to give a community user this message when he/she logs in:
Dear John, your latest blog "I really want to say something offensive" has been moderated by editorial staff at Wed May 12 16:28:32 CEST 2010
Improved Dashboard Security
The security in Dashboard has been improved to make it harder to forge request URIs similar to the one constructed by the AJAX code used in Dashboard.
Improved Dashboard UI
The Dashboard Stop Word UI has been improved to enhance the user experience. You may enter or paste in as many wors as you want at the same time and Dashboard will add them all immediately. The words will be sorted nicely in columns and it is possible to delete (and undo the deletion) individual words, the changes are first committed when the "Save Changes" button is pressed.
